Honig ökologisch gesehen wichtiger als Schokocremeaufstrich? Charlotte Schmitz und Andreas Kramer erklären, was Imker für die Bienen tun. Sie schildern das Leben der Honigbiene und das Geschehen in einem Bienenvolk während eines Sommers.
Wie funktioniert eine

Honig ist der kleine Bruder des Weins: Im Anschluss an die Führung verkosten Sie Imkerhonig aus der Region. Wie unterscheiden sich die einzelnen Honigsorten? Wieso ist Honig manchmal flüssig, manchmal cremig, manchmal hell & manchmal dunkel? Sie lernen Qualitätskriterien für Imkerhonig kennen.

Die Partner
Charlotte Schmitz imkert seit zehn Jahren. Sie bewirtschaftet rund ein Dutzend Völker in Frankfurt/Main. Drei Jahre lang hat sie das Frankfurter Veterinäramt als Bienenseuchen-Sachverständige unterstützt, um der Ausbreitung von Bienenkrankheiten vorzubeugen. Das Erfolgsrezept des Überlebenskünstlers Bienenvolk zu erklären, macht ihr immer wieder Spaß.

Andreas Kramer
Imker zu sein ist für Andreas Kramer eine Berufung. Die Völker seiner Bioland-zertifzierten Imkerei mit Sitz im Taunus stehen an ausgewählten Plätzen im Taunus, im Stadtgebiet von Frankfurt und in der Pfalz. Neben der Arbeit an den Bienen gibt es sein Wissen in Vorträgen und Lehrgängen an Interessierte weiter.
